An historic weather beacon atop a downtown Portland office building incurred high energy and maintenance costs. To change a failed lamp requires “stepping” a tall mast and is very difficult and labor intensive. The beacon had (195) 90-watt halogen lamps. Extra Effort designed a replacement system utilizing 6-watt LED lamps, drastically reducing energy costs and maintenance costs.
